A relatively easy to care for Cichlid. High filtration is required

Native to middle and upper amazon basins in western Brazil and Peru.

What is the ideal number to keep together?
Can be kept in small groups.

What water conditions do they require?
Will accept temperatures from 20 - 28C and a pH range between 6.0 - 7.5.

What should you feed them?
Depending on size, will happily accept flakes when small, but will quickly require pellets of varying sizes. Frozen foods such as krill will also be greedily eaten.

How compatible are they with other fish?
Yes, but only of a similar size and temperament.
