So if you have a 10000 litre pond you will want to be looking at around a 5000 litre per hour pump at least. Recommended Pump size for a Koi Pond If you are planning to keep a large variety of Koi in you pond you will need to be filtering your pond at least every hour. This means if you have a 10000 litre pond you will want to have at least a 10000 litre per hour pump. Of course these are basic guidelines and all Garden Ponds are different- thats why we love them!
